About me
Paint, Paint, Paint
From a village to the big city

Well, what does one write here?
Ideally, not too much.
At some point, I studied painting and graphic art. Since that apparently matters, I also have to mention that I studied at the HGB Leipzig with Annette Schröter. Fortunately. Technically, I also studied with several other professors, but somehow that never seems important in texts like this.
What else?
Born in 1995. Grew up in the countryside. Went to an arts boarding school at 14. After graduating, I did a traineeship as a journalist, because, fortunately, every art university had rejected me. Then: surveying assistant in China, the USA, and Sweden. After that, I studied painting and graphic art, because, fortunately, every art university accepted me. Eventually I moved to Berlin, and now, now I’ll stay here for a while.
My opinion?
Painting finally no longer has to be performative. God, how many years I wasted trying to be the way the art world expects you to be. Trying to be the way a neoliberally grown monster wants you to be — a construct in which only those with enough cultural capital and the luck of being in the right place at the right time ever stand a chance.
Fortunately, I don’t have to play along. And neither do you. You and I, we can change something. I’ll start in my studio — so that art can once again be available to everyone who wants to take part.
